Leadership development in healthcare: A qualitative study

Assignment Description:

It is important for you to learn how to write about another author’s work. That is different from writing down exactly what the author wrote. Your review should not read as though you are the author of the article or material. You are the reviewer of the article, and your review should read as a review. When you proofread your review, if it reads as though you are the author of the article or material, your style of writing is not appropriate. The reader should clearly understand the difference between the author’s contribution and your interpretation and evaluation of that contribution. Under no circumstance should you copy material from an article and represent it as your own work. If you need to quote briefly from an article to make a point, be sure to put the quotation in quotation marks, and give the page number of the quote.
The student will critique the assigned journal article. As indicated above in Tasks to Complete you will read the article assigned by the first letter of your last name. Critiquing an article other than those assigned above will not be accepted. Your paper will be divided into three sections that must have the following three subheadings which include: 1.) Introduction 2.) Methodology and Results 3.) My impressions of the article. In your Introduction section you will inform the reader that you intend to review an article giving the title of the article and author(s). State the overall purpose of the article. What was the main theme of the article? What new ideas or information were communicated in the article? Why is it important to publish these ideas? In the Methodology and Results section you can address what methods the author used to reach their conclusions. Was it a qualitative or quantitative study? What were the basic results or findings from the research? If this is an opinion article where did the author get the information to formulate his or her opinions or results? In the My Impressions of the Article section you address your impressions of the usefulness of the article. Did the article make logical sense? What were the strengths and weakness of the article? Were there contradictions in the article? Were the conclusions valid? Do you agree with the conclusions why or why not?
This assignment addresses the formal analysis and critique of a journal article. Additional references must be used  to support your critique position. The paper will be 2-3 pages in length, excluding cover page, references, and appendix (if applicable). The paper must be APA format 6th ed., using peer-reviewed journals. Wikipedia or dictionary sites are unacceptable references. Peer-reviewed articles are located within professional organization periodicals such as American Nurse Association journal. They allow other peers to critique submitted articles.

Abortion (Pro- Choice)

Abortion (Pro- Choice)
Proposal. Students first write a project proposal to the committee, where they describe the topic
they have chosen, explain why it is worthy of study, and identify the sources they intend to
leverage. Research and Read. Students research a compelling topic where they will prove a
point and draw new conclusions on the topic. Some things to keep in mind while researching:
How the topic changed over time
Why people should care about the topic
How does the topic connect to today
Student will identify and keep track of appropriate sources. These sources may include books,
scholarly journals, news articles, primary sources, oral histories, and historical fiction. At least
five separate sources will need to be cited in the written paper that follows. An annotated
bibliography of these sources will be required with the submission of the paper. Write. Next
students will demonstrate findings and a new understanding of the topic by using the research to
write an analytical paper. We will provide a rubric for this. Similar to the quarterly essays, each
point you make in the paper should be proven by factual evidence from the informational text.
You will analyze, reflect, and compare. In referencing their sources, students use MLA-style and
in-text citations. A Bibliography must be included with the paper. Library Page on how to do
citations.
At least 6 sources must be used for this research/argumentative paper.

Title: The title should catch the attention of the reader and compel them to continue reading. It
should be descriptive, punchy and relevant.
Executive Summary: This is a 1-2 paragraph summary that aims to convince the reader to
actually read the rest of the document. This is similar to an abstract. It is especially important that
you can quickly and concisely share the relevance and importance of your brief. You should
include a description of the problem, a statement on why the current approach/policy option
needs to be changed/evaluated (or why there needs to be a policy focus if there currently is not
one) and your recommendations for action.
Statement of the Problem: The purpose of this section is to convince the target audience that a
problem exists which requires action. In this section, you should clearly outline the importance of
the problem. Provide a clear statement of the problem or issue, including what we know about
the problem and the root causes.
Critique of Current Policies: Provide a clear statement of the policy implications of the problem,
and explain what current policies are, and where they are or are not working. You need to set the

recommendations (one or more). This should be persuasive in tone, and you should provide
information on the implications of any policy changes that you are recommending. Your
recommendations should be supported by the literature.
Sources: You do not have to have citations in the main text, but you do need to provide author or
organization names for any tables or case studies you present from a source. However, you
must include an APA style “Sources” list at the end of the paper. All of the information presented
in the problem, critique, and recommendation sections must be supported by the literature that
you list in this section.
