Quality and Improvement Processes and Risk Management Program

Quality and Improvement Processes and Risk Management Program

The purpose of this assignment is to analyze how an organization’s quality and improvement processes contribute to its risk management
program.
This assignment builds on the Risk Management Program Analysis – Part One assignment you completed in Topic 1 of this course.
Assume that the sample risk management program you analyzed in Topic 1 was implemented and is now currently in use by your health care
employer/organization. Further assume that your supervisor has asked you to create a high‐level summary brief of this new risk management
program to share with a group of administrative personnel from a newly created community health organization in your state who has enlisted
your organization’s assistance in developing their own risk management policies and procedures.
Compose a 1,250‐1,500 word summary brief that expands upon the elements you first addressed in the Topic 1 assignment. In this summary
brief, address the following points regarding your health care organization and its risk management program:
Explain the role of your organization’s MIPPA-approved accreditation body (e.g., JC, ACR, IAC) in the evaluation of your institution’s quality
improvement and risk management processes.
Describe the roles that different levels of administrative personnel play in healthcare ethics and establishing or sustaining employer/employeefocused organizational risk management strategies and operational policies.
Illustrate how your organization’s risk management and compliance programs support ethical standards, patient consent, and patient rights and
responsibilities.
Explain the legal and ethical responsibilities health care professionals face in upholding risk management policies and administering safe health
care at your organization.
Relate how your organization’s quality improvement processes support and contribute to its overall journey to excellence.
In addition to your textbook, you are required to support your analysis with a minimum of three peer‐reviewed references.

Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not
required.
This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for
successful completion.

Assessing Musculoskeletal Pain

Case 3: Ankle Pain

=================================================
A 46-year-old female reports pain in both of her ankles, but she is more concerned about her right ankle. She was playing soccer over the
weekend and heard a “pop.” She is able to bear weight, but it is uncomfortable. In determining the cause of the ankle pain, based on your
knowledge of anatomy, what foot structures are likely involved? What other symptoms need to be explored?
=================================================
What are your 5 differential diagnoses for ankle pain?
==================================================
What physical examination will you perform?
==================================================
What special maneuvers will you perform?
=================================================
Should you apply the Ottawa ankle rules to determine if you need additional testing?
=================================================
With regard to the case study you were assigned:
——————————————————————–======
Review this week’s Learning Resources, and consider the insights they provide about the case study.
===============================================
Consider what history would be necessary to collect from the patient in the case study you were assigned.
===============================================
Consider what physical exams and diagnostic tests would be appropriate to gather more information about the patient’s condition.
===============================================
How would the results be used to make a diagnosis?
==================================================
Identify at least five possible conditions that may be considered in a differential diagnosis for the patient.
==================================================
an episodic/focused note about the patient in the case study to which you were assigned using the episodic/focused note template provided in
the Week 5 resources.

==================================================
Provide evidence from the literature to support diagnostic tests that would be appropriate for each case.
==================================================
List five different possible conditions for the patient’s differential diagnosis, and justify why you selected each.
==================================================
There were a few things regarding the soap note documentation – Most all of you documented the soap note in the correct format. However, the
diagnostic tests section was not responded correctly. You were required to order the appropriate diagnostic tests for the case study and also
support your diagnostic tests with evidence based documentation. You should consider the differential diagnoses that you came up with for this
section. As a provider you need to come up with the appropriate diagnostic tests and also explain your reasoning as to why the tests would fit
the patient in the case study along with the evidence.
—————————————————————————
And for the differential diagnoses, you were on the right track but there were a few responses which had the definition for the differential
diagnoses. Again the differential diagnoses need to include your reasoning as to why and how it fits the patients presentation and the clinical
findings present in the case study. I hope this feedback is helpful to you.

For this week, you will be working on Musculo-skeletal issues . You have to post your response in the discussion board this week. Please
remember to follow the required episodic soap note format for your discussion board submission. =========================== I am a

Intersectionality Nursing

Intersectionality Nursing

1) Intersectionality has become a “buzz word” that is often used as a definition but not operationalized into practice. Reflecting on your
increased understanding from last week’s readings, discuss how Sarah Jama’s perspectives relate to women’s experiences within the article.
How can applying an intersectional lens improve women with disabilities’ experiences in this article?
Here is the video link

This is a student discussion from the forum please read the article and watch the video and respond to this by answering the question above.
After Sarah Jama’s interviews, I have come to realize what her perspective is related to women’s experiences within the article. As discussed,
some healthcare services are not designed for people with disabilities, as it was shown that Sarah was not able to get into the ambulance due to
it not being accessible. These perspectives are related to the article’s theme of inaccessible care settings as shown in the shower room in the
labour and delivery unit, which was not designed for women with disabilities (Tarasoff, 2017). By applying the intersectional lens, nurses would
be able to recognize the different oppression that each woman with disabilities has faced and all other parts of identities that they hold. Having
the ability to recognize injustice, the nurses need to advocate for the client based on the need for each individual to attain the quality of care.
Most importantly, healthcare workers need to constantly reflect on their stigma, their values towards females with disabilities, and the need for
continued education in the area of care for disabled patients. In addition, more funding is needed to do more research in this area of healthcare
as there are numerous obstacles that are depicted in the article.

Student’s Response to Peers

Student’s Response to Peers

Respond to at least two of your colleagues on two different days in one of the following ways:

  • If your colleagues’ posts influenced your understanding of these concepts, be sure to share how and why. Include additional insights you gained.
  • If you think your colleagues might have misunderstood these concepts, offer your alternative perspective and be sure to provide an explanation for them. Include resources to support your perspective.

STUDENT SA (1 Page response 3 references)

  • List three questions you might ask the patient if she were in your office. Provide a rationale for why you might ask these questions.
  1. What is your typical day like?
  2. What is your bedtime routine?
  3. How do you cope with sleeplessness?
  • Identify people in the patient’s life you would need to speak to or get feedback from to further assess the patient’s situation. Include specific questions you might ask these people and why.
  1. Children or next of kin
  • Explain what, if any, physical exams and diagnostic tests would be appropriate for the patient and how the results would be used.
  • List a differential diagnosis for the patient. Identify the one that you think is most likely and explain why.
  • List two pharmacologic agents and their dosing that would be appropriate for the patient’s antidepressant therapy based on pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics.
  • From a mechanism of action perspective, provide a rationale for why you might choose one agent over the other.
  • For the drug therapy you select, identify any contraindications to use or alterations in dosing that may need to be considered based on the client’s ethnicity. Discuss why the contraindication/alteration you identify exists. That is, what would be problematic with the use of this drug in individuals of other ethnicities?
  • Include any “check points” (i.e., follow-up data at Week 4, 8, 12, etc.), and indicate any therapeutic changes that you might make based on possible outcomes that may happen given your treatment options chosen.
