Labeling Theory 
This term paper should be 20 to 22 pages (of text) in length. In this paper, you will critically
analyze and apply one major criminological theory. Which theory you write your paper about is
entirely up to you. The paper should include detailed discussions of the origins and
social/historical contexts of the theory, its fundamental framework and constituent parts, research
that has evaluated the theory’s ability to account for crime, the theory’s strengths and
weaknesses, and its potential and realized policy applications. I encourage you to discuss your
