Argue for or against this claim: It is wrong to illegally download the textbook for this class.
By definition we know that it is not *legal* to *illegally* download this textbook, but this isn’t
the question. I want you to make an argument that it is, or is not, moral to download the
book. There isn’t a right answer, so focus on the clarity of your writing and the structure of
the paper.
Some ideas to consider (or not):
Downloading the textbook is stealing from a company
No one is harmed by downloading the textbook
The problem is society and the textbook market, so downloading the textbook is a good
corrective redistribution
The publisher has more money that you do, and buying the book would lead to further
inequality
The whole notion of intellectual property is incoherent
The issue is the download sites, not the person who downloads the book
