Healthcare Quality Improvement Idea

Healthcare Quality Improvement Idea

I have attached all information, this project has several parts. The first 3 pages of it are due Feb
6th, this includes the 1 page written proposal of healthcare quality improvement idea (instructions
attached separately), the 1 page root cause and effect (fishbone analysis) the blank template for
this is attached separately, and lastly a separate a reference page. Follow “instructions for parts
1-3” file.
All reading about QI structures, ideas, samples etc are in the QI toolkit. This will help to better
understand for part 1.
The labeled file “QI toolkit cause and effect diagram” is a template to use and fill out, and
example of fishbone is provided- pg 2. And pg 3 is reference page.
Rest of instructions are in the file labeled “instructions…”
Note: This project has a timeline and more parts to come, if you do well on first part i will
complete a separate order requesting same writer to complete the remaining parts due later. The
full instructions are included in the files attached- these are the sample and A3 frame, a3
workbook (due later). If the first writer wants to complete the entire instructions (4 parts) listed on
the “grading rubric” file- they can add an additional cost/timeline for- but note only part 1 is due
feb 6, parts 2,3,4 are due later

Sensitivity Specificity and Positive and Negative Predictive Values of Screening Tests

Sensitivity Specificity and Positive and Negative Predictive Values of Screening Tests

Evaluating Sensitivity & Specificity of Two Screening Tests:

First, download the Excel worksheet (“Exercise2.xlsx”), which displays made-up data from a study to determine the sensitivity and specificity of two serology (antibody) tests for the “Swim Flu”, a novel respiratory infection. There are twenty subjects, ten of whom had a confirmed diagnosis of “Swim Flu”, and ten of whom were confirmed disease-free.

Their serum antibody levels, as determined by Test A and Test B, are shown in the tables on the spreadsheet. High antibody level indicates a positive test and Low antibody level indicates a negative test. By entering various cutpoints for the two antibody assays in the yellow-highlighted cell, you will see side-by-side tabulations of the numbers of true positives (TP), false negatives (FN), false positives (FP), and true negatives (TN). By default, “10” has been entered as the antibody cutpoint. Calculate the sensitivity and specificity for Test A and Test B using the numbers from the table that is highlighted in pink on the Excel worksheet. Then enter “8”, “9”, “11”, and “12” and re-calculate the sensitivities and specificities for each of these cutpoints, entering the results in the table highlighted in green on the Excel worksheet. Finally, upload your responses to Blackboard under “EX2”

QUESTIONS

  1. Which of the two screening tests would you use to screen for “swim flu” and why?
  2. What antibody cutpoint would be a reasonable cutpoint for Test B assuming that you would prefer equal rates of false positives and false negatives?
  3. Calculate and interpret the positive predictive value (PPV) for Test A at antibody cutpoint of 10?
  1. Calculate and interpret the positive predictive value (PPV) for Test B at antibody cutpoint of 10?
  2. Discuss the implications of a 100% sensitive test. [Hint: Consider false positive or false negative rate].

Social Health Determinants

Social Health Determinants

Instructions: Please answer the following questions focused on the Social Determinants of Health (SDOH).
Discussion Questions:
In your own words, please describe what the term Social Determinants of Health means.
In your opinion, do most people in society have enough money to meet basic needs? Does their ability to have enough money to meet basic needs greatly impact their ability to live a quality life? Why or why not?
Are there things in addition to money that impact a person’s overall health? If so, what are those things?
Of the various Social Determinants of Health (i.e., where people live, learn, work, play and worship), which is the one that impacts health the greatest? Why?
Think about both the positive and negative impacts on health.
What impact does zip code (where a person lives) have on health, if any?
Think about both the positive and negative impacts on health.
What is at least one way the Social Determinants of Health can be addressed by us as Public Health professionals?

Application of Public Health and Behavior Change Theories

two. Moreover, it should be treated as such. Please review the entire document before you
begin.

Discussion 1: Underrecognized Public Health Issues
Note: Please read both Discussion questions before beginning the first Discussion.
Think about the subjects of the public service advertisements (PSAs) or signs you may have
seen regarding public health. What comes to mind? The issue of distracted driving has

dominated in the United States. There are signs in most restaurant restrooms that encourage
hand washing. In wildfire-prone areas, fire safety signs and PSAs are ubiquitous. Now consider
underrecognized issues (URIs). Almost by definition, the most underrecognized public health
issues are not easily identifiable through an Internet search and may be more of a challenge to
find. Outside of their lack of recognition, what are the common characteristics of URIs in public
health?
For this Discussion, explore underrecognized issues in public health and select one to use for
this Discussion. Consider why the issue may be underrecognized and strategies you might use
to raise awareness of it in the field. Note that the underrecognized public health issue that you
select must be used in both Discussions this week. Be sure to select a URI that was not included
in this week’s Learning Resources.
With these thoughts in mind:
Post a description of an underrecognized issue in public health. Then explain why this issue
needs recognition or increased awareness by the field of public health. Then explain your vision
of future directions for community health education theory and intervention development in the
field of public health. Finally, explain one strategy you might use to increase
awareness/recognition of this issue in the public health field.

Be sure to support your postings and responses to your colleagues’ postings with specific
references to the Learning Resources and the current literature.

Discussion 2: Application of Theory to Underrecognized Public Health Issues
Note: Please read both Discussion questions before beginning the first Discussion.
In the first Discussion for this week, you identified and described an underrecognized issue (URI)
in public health. This week, you further explore the URI you chose by examining current research
related to it and how this research might be used to raise awareness of the URI.

For this Discussion, find a peer-reviewed article about the URI you selected in this week’s first
Discussion question. The article also should make reference to theory. Consider the theory’s
effectiveness and how the research findings might contribute to awareness or recognition of the
URI.
With these thoughts in mind:
Post a description of the article you selected and the theory applied within it. Then, explain
whether the application of the theory was effective. Finally, explain how the research findings
might contribute to increased awareness or recognition of the issue.
Be sure to support your postings and responses with specific references to the Learning
Resources and the current literature.
