Criminological Theory

Criminological Theory

You will adopt the role of a criminal justice advisor to Virginia Governor Ralph Northam. You will apply a criminological theory to a criminal justice problem with the goal of crafting meaningful policy and programming. You must write in a clear, direct, and persuasive style, synthesizing appropriate scholarly sources and theoretical tenets to support your argument. Your budget is sizable, so you do not need to concern yourself with what is financially feasible.

Topic : Use restorative justice to address crimes stemming from drug addiction

  3. How the theory can be applied to the problem, specifically: what programs will you institute? Why will they work, based on the theory and research? (3 pages/30%)
  4. What are the potential weaknesses or limitations of this theory to address this problem? How could you overcome those in your policy/program? (1 page/10%)
