- Choose an existing building to be your new contemporary arts museum, i.e. the Guggenheim Museum, Bilbao, Spain. (Links to an external site.) Download a picture of the museum and copy it into your powerpoint slide. Label the image: Architect, building title, location and date. Insert jpegs into your file.
- Curate an exhibition representing at least three different media (other than architecture): Choose three artworks in three different media, i.e. sculpture, drawing, painting. Select works from official museum websites only. Insert images of each artwork and label it fully: artist’s name, title, date, media, location. Next, describe the steps that the artist took in creating the artwork. Apply new terms from the chapters on media, i.e. sculpture in the round, carving, subtractive process, etc.
- Define and explain each step in creating the artwork with each media and technique (i.e. hollow-casting in bronze). For hollow-casting, there could be a total of 10 steps, beginning with creating the model, etc. See your textbook for specific steps.
