1st Discussion: The two network management concepts which I have learned from the paper are Software Defined Network (SDN) and Big Data, and I would like discuss about these two concepts,

Software defined Network:

Software defined network is a type of network technology which is used mainly for virtualization. There are many uncertain facts and difficulties in this network virtualization. In this networking system, so many things cannot be implemented directly. If this networking system is introduced without complete development, at present there will be many challenges itself in the network system which leads to some more issues which may affects the future network system. And there are two ways of working this SDN, one way is underway and the other one is overlay which is used to create virtual network infrastructure. However, based on the recent studies the output was given that only 20% of this software is useful.

Big Data:

Big data has many new and overly-hyped technology trends which represents new technologies. In many companies, many technologies were replaced by big data to store the information, and it became the backbone for many software companies. Where, many companies are trying to make their mark by using this big data exactly for the growth of their company. However, big data is mainly used to store the data and to retrieve the data. The data either structured data or unstructured data is stored with the help of Hadoop, and there is no particular specification for the data storage. Also, big data is very useful for future.

Cloud Computing

Now a days the term cloud computing has been the most commonly used term for a wide array of platforms and services. It’s not astonishing that there is a great deal of confusion regarding about what the system actually entails (Rouse, n.d). The waters are only made muddier by the fact that at least on the surface their cloud be share of much common with the virtualization technology. Cloud computing and virtualization are two different technologies and confusing as the two has the potential to cost an organization to derail.

SDN

SDN is a term that can encompass a wide set of approaches to network virtualization. For the purpose of this survey we focused on just two flavors of SDN. One form of SDN involves the use of technologies that change the behavior of physical network devices by splitting the control plane from the delivery plane and introducing new network controller elements. Open Flow is the most often-cited protocol that would be used between controllers and switches in this type of deployment.

Application Program Interface

It is a set of routines, protocol and tools for building software applications and it specifies how the software components should interact. Application programming interfaces are used when the programming graphical user interface are used. A good application programming interface makes it easier to develop a program by providing all the building blocks that a programmer put together. There exists different application programming interface that are there and used based on different requirements (Beal, n.d)
