Critical Review Paper – Essay format External contextual factors are taken into consideration in the successful running of events. These factors are: Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Environmental, Legal/Regulatory and Organisational.
Find a news media article relating to an Australian event, identify 2 contextual factors in the article and discuss how these present as opportunities or threats to the event. Based on this discussion make recommendations as to how the event can remain competitive in the future.
In addition to the initial article, utilize peer-reviewed journal articles, explore the event’s website, annual reports, and other media coverage to gather the necessary evidence, and ground your recommendations in both your analysis of the event and your examination of the contextual factors.
Inclusions: The initial news media article must have been published between 1 January 2019 and 1 March 2020 and focus on an event that has already taken place in Australia. Consult the rubric available in e to ensure you have a clear understanding of the marking criteria.
Word limit: maximum 1,200 words Include the word count at the end of your paper prior to the reference list. This list is available under Assessments in Important: An entire lecture session (week 3) has been devoted to assisting you to prepare for this assignment. This includes a pre-lecture activity that you are required to submit prior to coming to the class. This activity will take you around 15 minutes to complete online, and includes a ‘sample essay’ to rank against the marking criteria – this is called ‘benchmarking’. This activity will then be unpacked for you during the session by your teaching team.
STUDENTS ARE ADVISED THAT ATTENDING THIS SESSION IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Length: 1,200 words not inclusive of reference list. Submission is to be made as a WORD DOC FORMAT ONLY in electronic form via Turnitin (available on Online).
Submit as a single word document to Turnitin by 11:00pm on (or before) the due date. A signed Assignment Cover Sheet must be included in your submission. Submissions received after 11:00pm on the due date will be considered late and incur a 10% penalty of the total value of the assignment per 24hr period. PDF document submissions will not be accepted.
NOTE: Students are responsible for the submission of assignments. The correct version of your work must be submitted. The teaching team will not allow resubmission due to the ‘wrong version being uploaded’. Assignments must be submitted only to subject 21640 assignment portal.
