Investigate the relationship between globalization and populism.
A minimum of 15 sources is required, 8 of which must be academic in nature (scholarly books, journal articles, chapters in edited books). The others may be from popular press sources (newspaper articles, magazines such as The Economist).
A topic can be chosen from the list. Some of the topics that can be considered include: An analysis of the failure of the Doha Round of WTO negotiations

 The role of NGOs at the WTO
 The relationship between global value chains and poverty eradication
 The impact of international trade on the environment
 The case for and against protectionism
 Why cooperation on international financial issues is so difficult
 The constraints on the internationalization of China’s currency, the RMB
 Why regionalism became so popular in the last quarter of a century
 What explains successes in poverty reduction in the developing world?
 Is globalization responsible for the rise of populism?
 What are the principal reasons for increasing inequality in industrialized countries?
