The Common Core Learning Standards set the bar for what is to be taught at each grade level. The Progressions help define connections to learning for students. Choose one of the following for your assignment this week.

Analyze and interpret new or unfamiliar language and describe student understandings and proficiency expectations. How will this prepare students for the next level of learning?

2. Examine a CCLS math standard for your grade level (Grade 3) that is new and challenging for a selected group of your students. Explain how the Thinking Mathematics Practices and SMPs you use will help your students to achieve this standard.
