Reflection Assignment

Reflection Assignment

Given research over the last several decades, one thing that is clear about learning is that people, including students, of course, who think they can improve their ability to learn achieve better grades and success in other areas of their lives. On the other hand, people who think their ability to learn is just something they are born with, that they can’t help, do less well.

Thinking — really believing — that you can improve your ability to learn has come to be known as a Growth Mindset, while thinking you are simply stuck with what you were born with is called a Fixed Mindset.

So, for this assignment, I would like for you to read through the attached brief slideshow, take the little quiz that’s in there, and write a brief reflection on what you read and did. You will not be graded on the quiz. It’s just a way for you to find out for yourself if you have more of a Growth or Fixed Mindset currently. Over the semester, as I said, we’ll do just a couple of things that may help build that Growth Mindset.

Your Reflection should be written, as with everything in this class, in MLA format, with Times New Roman font, 12 point, double-spaced, and an appropriate MLA heading. For this assignment there really won’t be a “Works Cited” page, so that won’t be a worry.

It should be a minimum of 250 words (that’s tiny!), and should be turned in by no later than 11:59 p.m. on the date shown in the course schedule.

Attached (up near the top) is a link to the slideshow you will base this on.

Hope you have fun with this!

Triggers And Contingencies Planning

Triggers And Contingencies Planning
Prior to beginning this discussion, review section 7.4 Contingency Planning in your textbook. Strategic plans are focused on current and future company goals, therefore changes in the environment must be detected and monitored. Changes in the environment that impinge on the company’s strategic plan are known as external triggers and triggers are paired with plans to successfully deal with them. These paired actions are known as contingency plans. What qualities make a future issue a “trigger”?
As an example, consider you are on the strategic planning team for a soft drink company. A merger of two major competitors next year would constitute a future trigger. For this discussion, consider the Environmental Scan and SWOT analysis you conducted in Week 2. Formulate a trigger/contingency pair in the form of a three-part sentence similar to the example in the textbook. Examine it in terms of the three guidelines that good contingency plans should follow.
Post a summary of your selected company and risks that you perceive based on your prior Environmental Scan and SWOT analysis. State the three-sentence trigger/contingency pair and justify your choice of contingency plan using information from the week’s readings and/or other scholarly or credible resources, using the Scholarly, Peer-Reviewed, and Other Credible Sources (Links to an external site.) table for guidance.
(NOTE: Incorporate the feedback you receive from your instructor and save your work. It will be part of your Strategic Plan Final Project for this course).
Guided Response: Review several of your peer’s posts. Respond to at least two of your posts in a substantive manner and provide recommendations to extend their thinking. Support your position by using information from the week’s readings, or examples from current events and/or other scholarly or credible resources, using the Scholarly, Peer Reviewed, and other Credible Sources (Links to an external site.) table for guidance. Properly cite any references according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center’s APA Style (Links to an external site.) resource.

Computer Presentation Assignment Help

Computer Presentation Assignment Help

Each student is to select and sign up for a topic listed in the Presentation section of the class. If you have a topic idea that is not on the list. Discuss it with the instructor. As long as it is related to the course, it is likely to be approved.

Students will research and prepare a narrated PowerPoint presentation for the class. The presentation should last 10 – 15 minutes and consist of 12-18 PowerPoint Slides. The audience for the presentation is your classmates (not the instructor). Assume your audience has the knowledge and experience of a second year computer programming student. Relate your topic to concepts we have learned in this class.

You should be able to find information online about these topics. Include a reference page with your list of sources. If you find that a particular topic is too complex for you to describe in 15 minutes, feel free to pick another topic. The instructor may need to remove you from your first topic.

There are two discussion board assignments for you to report on the status of your presentation throughout the class. Your presentation will be posted for other students to learn from and to comment on.

Here are some suggestions for producing your presentation.

  1. Do not put too much content in your PowerPoint slides. A good guideline is the 7×7 rule. Slides should not have more than 7 bullet points and each bullet point should have no more than 7 words.
  2. Full sentences and correct grammar is not required on slides.
  3. Use pictures and diagrams to illustrate the topic.
  4. You should not just read the slides, but use them to prompt your discussion.
  5. It is hard to do, but speak as if you were talking to people in the room.
  6. Animation, such as bullet points appearing as you talk about them, or images that appear or change, can make your presentation more interesting to look at.

Your presentation will be graded on both content and presentation. Students are required to watch and post comments on at least two other presentations. A grading rubric is attached to this assignment.
