Advanced Conditioning and Recovery Methods

Advanced Conditioning and Recovery Methods

Project Portfolio – 80% of the grade Yammer forum tasks – 20% of the grade
Your project is based on the following instructions:
1. Gather data on the force-velocity curve using the squat jump. This should profile the subject(s) using the following metrics:
• load (either as relative load (i.e. % of body weight) or absolute load),
• jump height at each load,
• power output at each load,
• velocity at each load.
2. The subject(s) may be an athlete or a group of athletes. Please note if you are a training athlete, experienced in resistance training and are injury free and capable of training with a body weight maximal load in the back squat, then please feel free to profile yourself. Note these same criteria should apply to any subject participating in this project. Having gathered this data we ask you to present the data in a meaningful manner using tables and graphs and a summary narrative of the results and their interpretation.
3. Then design a 4-week programme based on the force-velocity profile, as well as other relevant data and information you may have on your subject (or yourself). Further, this programme must be supported within a description of the demands of the sport or activity being trained for, matching the needs of the subject(s), informed through the F- V test. This is essentially a rationale or justification for the programme you design.
4. You are required to provide a video recording of the force-velocity test. This is used to determine the rigour and standardization that is applied in the test. This should also display the testing instrument that you have used to describe the force-velocity curve.
Guidance on Presentation of Project Please make sure to include –
a) Introduction to the project.
b) Test profile including the force-velocity data and its interpretation.
c) A 4-week programme of development.
d) A description of the sport/activity demands. This should justify the training programme.
e) Video recording of the force-velocity test
The written sections of your project should be submitted using the approved Setanta College Assignment document – found on your programme resources:
• All referenced materials should be made using the Harvard referencing system
• A maximum word count of 2000 words will be applied.
Supplementary Guidance
Learning Outcomes Addressed: On successful completion of the module you will be able to:
• Critique traditional and innovative training and recovery methods.
• Apply scientific and practical reflection in programme design.
• Create a conditioning programme reflecting the needs of the athlete and the demands of the sport.
Video and Images
Please ensure that you gain the permission of any athlete or group of athletes or clients for the use of their image and data in your project.
Preparation and Feedback
Feedback following the project will be provided to you in your transcript. Use the marking scheme provided here to assist you in preparing your project.
Extenuating Circumstances
If there are any exceptional circumstances that may have affected your ability to undertake or submit this project, make sure you contact the College prior to your submission deadline.
Plagiarism and Unfair Practice Declaration
By submitting this project, you declare that it is your own work and that the sources of information and material you have used (including the internet) have been fully identified and properly acknowledged as required. You also understand that the College reserves the right to investigate allegations of plagiarism or unfair practice which, if proven, could result in a fail in this assessment and may affect your progress.
Details of Submission
Please submit the completed project (written and video sections) by the submission date noted in your online learning portal. Note that all work handed in after 10 working days following the submission date will be capped at 40%. No marks will be awarded if the assessment is submitted after the late submission date unless extenuating circumstances are applied for and accepted.
Please submit the written document via Turnitin (moodle).
Video Submission The recorded video should be directly linked in the text of the document as a hotlink to a Unlisted YouTube video. To do so, please first create a YouTube account, select “upload video”, and when saving the file to YouTube please select “unlisted” (this only allows others with a direct link to view your video). You will be given the option during this stage to copy the video link, and this should simply be pasted into the final document.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Formative and Summative Assessment

Formative assessment is primarily developmental in nature, and is designed to give feedback to learners on their performance and how it can be improved.  Formative assessment is a key part of the learning process, and has been shown to contribute to enhancement of learning and raising of standards.  Summative assessment is designed to measure the extent to which a learner has achieved the intended learning outcomes of a module.  The summative component of an assessment task is designed solely to provide a measure of the achievement of a learning outcome by a learner.  Summative assessment should assess achievement of all learning outcomes in a secure, fair and accurate manner.

Formative Assessment for CBT

Formative Assessment is a compulsory part of successful completion of this module. For formative assessment of CBT students will be expected to participate in a short role play demonstrating the use of CBT strategies and techniques for which they will receive verbal and written feedback from their fellow classmates and the module leader.

Summative Assessment for CBT

Students will be expected to demonstrate achievement of their learning outcomes by submitting a 3000 word reflective account of learning in relation to using the principles of evidence-based cognitive behavioural therapy. This reflective account should incorporate a critical analysis of how the techniques they have identified are linked to the evidence base of cognitive behavioural therapy within their own practice area.

The reflection must incorporate a critical review of learning gained through the role-plays and formative assessment conducted in class.

The assignment should include the following elements:

  • A critical appraisal of CBT its background and how it is relevance to students’ own practice.
  • A critical review of relevant literature in relation to strategies/ techniques being discussed.
  • A reflective account of the purpose of assessment tools, homework and outcome measures in CBT.
  • Completed ‘Formative Assessment’ documents from in class role play. [ 2x ABC Tools, I x Completed feedback sheet )
  • A full reference list compliant with MU referencing style.

Completion of both Formative and Summative assessment are required for successful completion of Module.

Assignment Title: Individual Report

Description of the assignment, task, content, and structure:

In recent times due to many successful marketing initiatives, they have been successful in securing many service contracts with reputed retailers in the UK. In order to support this operation, the management changed the business processes radically to reduce the delivery times and to enhance customer experience. Some of other changes include investing in digital technologies including data analytics software, easy to operate digital handled operators and state-of-the-art web interface for end customers as well as its direct clients. The employees currently are extremely happy with existing processes and the teams they belong to. The new change requires many employees to improve their digital skills as many lack digital literacy skills.

As a very knowledgeable business analyst and intelligence consultant, you have been contacted by the board of Logi Service through a recruitment firm, to help institute this change and create a sense of urgency among the employees through training that will result to quick wins, ranging from technological, organizational, human to cultural aspect including processes and information flows of the business systems.

The firm has also, allowed you to assess the operations of their major global partner, including the customer databases, sales and profits across regions and cities. And finally, the company handed over to you a CSV Superstore database folder containing information about their global business operations.

Your tasks are highlighted in two parts:

Part 1

Using any favorite charts of yours, the board want you to design an executive Dashboard, and track and display any 3 of the 5 listed KPI’s:

3)     Sales

4)     Profit by province

5)     Shipping cost

Note: The Superstore database table has been provided via your school email and can be downloaded from Canvas site. The designed Dashboard must be presented and submitted in Word/PDF file.

Part 2

Write a critical report appraising the importance of integration of data analytics software and business intelligence platform such as Power BI, in enhancing business operations and performance, and clearly recommend with logical reasons why you think that the knowledge of these data-driven techniques and their applications are the best digital literacy skillsets that Logi Service employees required to support and drive the above change.

Boeing Manufacturing Problem to Deliver

Boeing Manufacturing Problem to Deliver

Boeing was known for quality-produced aircraft, but over the years and a merger, it seems to put quantity first. The 737 Max is a prime example. They swept stuff under the rug. Also, they hid a new component from the customer as a selling point of airlines not having to retrain pilots on the new aircraft. There have also been delivery delays of the 787 Dreamliner due to manufacturing issues. Where is the weak link causing these new problems?
Instructions:
Considering the 10 OM decisions, your paper will review issues caused by a failure in the production/operations management process. You will compare and contrast the current research findings with the principles and concepts presented in your Heizer, et al. textbook. All reference sources should be from academic journals, professional trade publications, and respected business or industry magazines. Limit the use of books as sources. Do NOT use articles or sources from Wikipedia! Use references published within the past six years. The basic rules for your research paper include: Following the current Writing Style Guide for manuscripts closely. The paper should be 10 pages at a minimum. Use one-inch margins on all sides. Left justify all narrative. Use Times
New Roman font, 12-point. Indent the first line of each paragraph one-half inch. Double-space everything in the paper. Do not add extra lines or spacing between paragraphs or sections of the paper.

Lesson Plans for Teaching English as an Additional Language

Lesson Plans for Teaching English as an Additional Language

The purpose of this assignment is to enable you to prepare a complete lesson plan for the course you like to teach in the near future. While preparing it, you will make language objectives and content objectives separately and detail how you will achieve them in your lesson or session. You will primarily focus on GAME (goals and objectives, activities, materials and resources, and evaluation). When you design the activities, you can follow any model you think is suitable or convenient for you. However, all your activities should be goal-directed and student-centered. Every activity you write in your lesson plan, or virtually you plan to do in our class should have a clear purpose. So, while deciding on the activities you like to do in your classroom, think of what you do, what you will do with students, what you will ask them to do collaboratively, and what you will ask them to do individually. You can draw ideas from TLC
(teaching and learning cycle)
The following files are the template and rubric for this assignment. I will add more sources in just a bit

Certified Fitness Trainer

Certified Fitness Trainer

This week’s written assignment is to a case study. Your answers should be concise, complete, and typed in a Microsoft Word document. Make sure to include your name on each page. When you are finished, upload the Word document to be graded using the dropbox below.
This week’s case study:
Client Profile: Selina Kyle
Age
Gender
Resting Heart Rate
Height
Weight
Body Fat %
31
Female
70 bpm
5’7″
159 pounds
33%
Selina just had her first baby a couple months ago and is determined to shed excess pregnancy pounds before summer. Selina has very limited exercise experience. She did not play high school or college sports. Prior to having her first child, she did like to hike, go out dancing, and take the occasional yoga class. She is eager to start a program to lose the baby weight. She can dedicate 3 or 4 days per week to exercise and is willing to sign on for 12 weeks to start.
Assignment:
Design a 12-week periodized training program for the client described in the Client Profile. Be very specific as you design the training programs as this is an opportunity for you to demonstrate your full comprehension of the information and concepts discussed throughout the course. List the types of exercise, duration, sets, reps, rest intervals, and so on.
Include:
Discussion of any fitness tests, methods of evaluation, and data collection used to assess and evaluate the client’s needs.
Specific conditions that you have identified in the client profile.
A detailed 12-week comprehensive and periodized training program including specific exercises, sets, repetitions, suggested rest times, etc. Specific and detailed nutritional strategies and an explanation as to how the strategies will assist the client in meeting energy needs.
Explanation for your chosen assessment, programming, and nutritional recommendations. (Be sure to reference course concepts when discussing rationale for your recommendations.)
Keep in mind that a client should be able to take your program and put it into practice without having to contact you to clarify what you intended by your recommendations or to explain parts of your program.
Don’t forget your explanation for WHY you listed and recommended what you did. Reference the concepts and theories covered in the course. Be sure to address why the program and exercises recommended are appropriate for the specific client given the client’s history, current abilities, and intended goal(s).
For example: if you are developing a program for a beginner client without any resistance training experience, explain how your program addresses the lack of experience, initial need for foundational development, process by which you would safely progress the client, etc. Tying your program to course concepts is a critical component of your case study.
